Many nurses during clinical have been true role models that exhibited professional skills that give the hospital setting its value. It is in our blood. Communication is the number one trait that can be applicable to all areas of nursing. This skill has the importance of support from one another, but without using communication there would many errors in our practice.

An important thing is allowing the patient or client to feel understood, and allowing personnel to take action if anything can be done. Understanding how to delegate tasks to personnel throughout the hospital or business setting can make a difference in a client’s current situation.

Empathy

Too much compassion can lead to fatigue quickly; it can be taxing on the mental psyche. This leads to fatigue outside of the work environment and can impact personal life where empathy and compassion are also used. Finding the right balance of self-care and valuing others is the key to a healthy amount of empathy and compassion.

Advocacy

Advocacy can play an enormous role as a healthcare professional. Identifying when a patient requires help voicing their confusion or lack of understanding of their current situation is our responsibility.

The most important thing as a nurse is to have the ability to balance Communication, Empathy, Conflict evolution, Advocacy, and Adaptability. There was a form of assertiveness with sensitivity with the correct amount of communication, all stirring into a positive outcome for patient and client cooperation.
